March 13, 2021
Into Mischief chalked up his 13th stakes winner of the year Saturday when the 4-year-old filly Kiss the Girl took the Conniver S. at Laurel Park.
The victory also marked the first stakes win for the bay filly who had previously ran second in the 2019 Schuylerville S. (G3) and the Geisha S. in January. She is one of 25 stakes horses for Into Mischief this year, which is twice as many as any other North American Sire.
After breaking alertly, Kiss the Girl was rated off the pace while four-wide down the backstretch. After a quarter-mile in :23.31 and a half in:46.31 Kiss the Girl made her move and took over from Artful Splatter in mid-stretch. She went on to win by a length in 1:23.21 on a fast main track.
“(This) means a lot to all of us. It’s always fun to win a stake, but you take a filly that has this type of pedigree and it becomes very important,” said trainer Michael Trombetta.
Kiss the Girl is owned by Three Diamonds Farm and is now 4-2-2 in 12 starts and has earned $221,056. Bred by Classic Thoroughbreds XII, she is the first foal out of Spin the Bottle and is from the immediate family of Grade 1 winner Off the Tracks and multiple graded winners Tasha’s Miracle and Concord Point.
