Kiss the Girl gets hard-earned victory in All Brandy S.

Into Mischief’s 4-year-old filly Kiss the Girl had a very tough trip yet still managed to secure victory in Saturday’s $75,000 All Brandy S. on the Pimlico turf course, winning by a neck with an impressive surge in the final sixteenth.
The 1 1/16-mile race started uneventfully, with Kiss the Girl taking up a good spot along the rail in fourth through the first half-mile. She crept closer to the leaders going into the final turn, but had to check off heels twice, and found herself in sixth entering the stretch. She found an opening at the top of the lane to set her sights on Awesome Jazz, who had opened up a five-length lead in mid-stretch. Kiss the Girl switched to the outside and ran her down in a very game effort.
“The owner (Three Diamonds Farm) tried her on the grass before we received her to train and he just wasn’t satisfied that she really had her best opportunity, so he wanted us to revisit it,” trainer Michael Trombetta said. “It took a couple of starts for her to fall into place, but he was certainly convinced that she could do it and it appears he was right.”
With the win, Kiss the Girl is 5-3-1 in 16 outings and has earned $279,766. She was bred in Maryland by Classic Thoroughbreds XII and sold for $210,000 to Three Diamonds in 2018 at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic yearling sale.
