May 18, 2017
A filly from the first crop of Spendthrift Farm’s Grade 1-winning stallion Jimmy Creed matched the fastest work of the day on Thursday during the final session of the Under Tack Show for the May 22-23 Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Two Year Olds in Training Sale.
The bay filly consigned by Endswell, Agent and cataloged as hip No. 390, stopped the timer in 10 seconds flat for the one-furlong distance (VIDEO).
The Kentucky-bred is the first foal out of the unraced Freedom Fire, a half-sister to multiple graded stakes placed Travel Advisory. Freedom Fire’s dam, Fire of Freedom, is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Flat Fleet Feet and from the immediate family of Champion Sprinter Eillo.
Jimmy Creed, whose first crop is racing this year, was represented by his first winner on May 3, when Admiral Jimmy set a 4 1/2-furlong track record at Gulfstream Park. His sales 2-year-olds have averaged $102,461 in 2017, ranking among all sires represented by their initial crop this season.
