Jackie’s Warrior the class of the True North S. (G2)

Jackie’s Warrior turned in yet another brilliant performance in the $300,000 True North S. (G2) on June 10 at Belmont Park, rolling to a five-length victory to give the future Spendthrift stallion his 11^th win in 15 career starts.

Ten of the 4-year-old colt’s wins have come in graded stakes, four of them in Grade 1s. He has now earned $2,474,664 for his owners Kirk and Judy Robinson.

Jackie’s Warrior was off just a beat slow in the 6 ½-furlong True North, but quickly found his stride to take

“It took a little time to get him going, but he was just doing his thing after that. He’s a special horse,” said Rosario. “I looked back and was so far in front and decided to save some for the next one. He’s special. You can see I never showed the stick. He did it all on his own.”

Asmussen said the sprinter would campaign at Saratoga Race Course this summer, pointed toward the six-furlong Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap (G1) July 30, followed by the seven-furlong Forego Stakes (G1) Aug. 27. The year-end goal before his retirement to stud at Spendthrift Farm is the Qatar Racing Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1) Nov. 5 at Keeneland.
