September 26, 2021
Future Spendthrift stallion Jackie’s Warrior outclassed the field in Saturday’s $300,000 Gallant Bob S. (G2), rolling to a 6 ¾-length victory under a hand ride from Joel Rosario.
Facing a quartet of foes, Jackie’s Warrior dueled with Real Talk through a quarter-mile in a swift :21.97, then began to pull away effortlessly on the turn. After a half-mile in :44.13, he cruised through the lane with Rosario looking back for the competition.
The final time of 1:08.64 on the fast track earned the 3-year-old a career-best Beyer Speed Figure of 110, his fourth triple-digit result.
“He’s exciting to watch,” trainer Steve Asmussen said. “What a very special horse he’s been. He’s run some game races and obviously we’re hoping it’s the ideal prep for the Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1, Nov. 6 at Del Mar).”
Jackie’s Warrior has won eight of his 11 starts, including three Grade 1’s, and earned $1,513,964 for Kirk and Judy Robinson. He’ll join the Spendthrift stallion roster upon the conclusion of his racing career.
