Itsmyluckycharm keeps rolling in Mrs. Presidentress S.
February 20, 2019
Itsmyluckycharm ran her winning streak to four straight with a gallant score in the Feb. 18 Mrs. Presidentress S. at Gulfstream Park.
After reeling off three consecutive allowance wins in December and January, 3-year-old Itsmyluckycharm tested stakes waters for the first time in the grassy Mrs. Presidentress. Sister Peacock shot out to the lead immediately, while Itsmyluckycharm pulled her way from fifth to second in the first half-mile.
The eventual winner got on even terms with the pacesetter at the top of the stretch, and the pair raced together the rest of the way, with the win going to Itsmyluckycharm by a neck in 1:35.91 on the firm turf.
The victory upped the Plesa Racing Stable homebred’s record to an excellent 5-3-0 in nine starts, with earnings of $133,606. Itsmyluckycharm is out of Hard Hat, who is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner and multi-millionaire Albert the Great.
Itsmyluckyday, a top-10 First-Crop sire of winners in 2018, has two stakes horses to date this year. He is standing the 2019 season at Spendthrift Farm for $3,500 live foal, stands and nurses.
