Into Mischief’s Top Gunner returns to stakes-winning ways in Parx Sprint S.
September 21, 2024
Top Gunner weaved his way to a 2 ½-length victory in Saturday’s $100,000 Parx Sprint S., the second career stakes win, and first since 2022, for the son of Into Mischief.
Top Gunner was one of two stakes winners Saturday for Into Mischief, who also accounted for Show Card’s win in the $125,000 Dark Mirage S. at Los Alamitos. Into Mischief has now eclipsed the $27 million mark for progeny earnings this year, nearly double that of any other North American sire.
Top Gunner was in amongst horses in the early stages of the 6 ½-furlong contest. He made his way between horses coming into the stretch, then dove down to the rail, rallying past the pacesetters to win going away in 1:16.38 on a fast main track.
The winner is owned by Michael Dubb and now sports a record of 7-5-8 in 30 starts, with earnings of $591,979. He was bred in Kentucky by Michael Talla.
