Into Mischief’s Mundaye Call sets track record in Audubon Oaks

One day after Gamine won Saturday’s Test S. (G1), Into Mischief added another 3-year-old filly to his stellar list of 2020 stakes winners when Mundaye Call rolled to a 7 ¼-length victory in the $100,000 Audubon Oaks at Ellis Park (VIDEO).

Mundaye Call was making her first stakes start since running as a maiden in last year’s Spinaway S. (G1). She wasted no time getting to the lead, carving out fractions of :22.25 and :45.11 while maintaining a one-length lead. She pulled away from the field at the top of the stretch and despite being completely geared down late she finished the seven furlongs in record time of 1:21.17 and earned a career-best Beyer Speed Figure of 100.

“She’s a big strong filly. Right sire,” said trainer Brad Cox. (Into Mischief) is amazing. We’ve had luck with Covfefe, Owendale, others. Long list of good Into Mischiefs, and she’s hopefully going to be on the list. She’s fast. She showed that today breaking the track record. She’s still lightly raced. We’re very pleased with what she was able to accomplishment today.”

Cox added he would talk with Larry Best, principal of OXO Equine, to determine if they would move on to the Sept. 4 Kentucky Oaks (G1).

Mundaye Call has won three of her five starts and earned $159,360. She was bred in Kentucky by Three Chimneys Farm and is out of the unraced Warrior’s Reward mare Reve d’Amour, who is a half-sister to Can the Man. Reve d’Amour foaled a full brother to Mundaye Call this year.
