Into Mischief tops all sires with 8 Breeders’ Cup Pre-entries
October 24, 2024
Into Mischief, who has topped the North American General Sire list for the past five years and is once again leading in 2024, will have eight opportunities in this year’s Breeders’ Cup to add to his current 2024 earnings total of just over $30 million.
Into Mischief’s eight pre-entries are the most of any sire represented in the Nov. 1-2 event at Del Mar.
Into Mischief, who will stand the 2025 season for $250,000 at Spendthrift Farm, is represented across a wide array of the 14 races, from the 2-year-olds Citizen Bull in the Juvenile (G1) and Acquitted in the Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1), to the Classic (G1) duo of Newgate and Pyrenees.
In grass races for older horses, Gina Romantica will face the boys in the Mile (G1) and Coppola contests the Turf Sprint (G1). Rounding out the octet on the main track are Meta Max in the Sprint (G1) and Musical Mischief in the Distaff (G1).
Into Mischief ranks sixth on the all-time earnings list for leading Breeders’ Cup sires at $9.28 million and his seven winners are tied for second-most.
The Breeders’ Cup program on Friday will consist of five races for the 2-year-olds, while Saturday’s card will have the nine remaining races.
Final entries with post positions will be drawn on Oct. 28.
