Into Mischief juvenile scores first stakes win
October 2, 2016
Dangerfield earned plenty of respect with a dominating 4 1/4-length win in Saturday’s $55,000 Oak Tree Juvenile S. at Pleasanton. The colt is the third 2-year-old stakes winner by Into Mischief in the past month, topped by Hopeful S. (G1) winner Practical Joke.
Dangerfield, owned by W. C. Racing and Zayat Stables, had made three starts in maiden sprints, but found Saturday’s 1 mile and 70 yard contest more to his liking. After stalking Aqua Frio through the first six furlongs, Dangerfield took over the lead and drew off impressively in the stretch to win going away.
Dangerfield upped his record to 1-1-0 in four starts.
The winner was bred in Kentucky by Joe Murphy and sold to his owners for $450,000 at the 2015 Keeneland September Yearling Sale.
