Into Mischief led the way at yet another auction with a $2.4 million colt to top the Tuesday session of the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga yearling sale.
The colt was one of Into Mischief’s three seven-figure lots during the two-day sale in upstate New York.
Peter Fluor and K.C. Weiner’s Speedway Stable walked away the winning bidders for hip No. 183. The bay yearling was consigned by Lane’s End, agent for Pam Wygod and the Wygod Family Revocable Trust.
“We absolutely loved this colt,” bloodstock agent Marette Farrell, who handled Speedway’s bidding, said. “I felt he commanded the room, as they say. He was the king. He is by Into Mischief, who we all know is an amazing stallion. He is from very good breeders, very good consignors and was raised at an amazing farm in Lane’s End, with very good land.”
The colt is out of stakes-placed Sweet Sting, who is a daughter of champion Perfect Sting. The mare is a half-sister to graded winner Smart Sting.
Into Mischief’s other seven-figure horses, also colts, both brought $1 million even. The first, hip No. 30, sold Monday to M V Magnier and White Birch Farm from the Darby Dan Farm, agent consignment. The colt is a half-brother to Chilukki S. (G3) winner She Can’t Sing.
On Tuesday, hip No. 201, consigned by Indian Creek, agent, went to Grandview Equine. The colt is the first foal out of the unraced Medaglia d’Oro mare Validest, who is a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Global View. Bush Pilot, a half-sister to Global View, is the dam of this year’s Churchill Downs S. (G1) winner Gun Pilot.
Into Mischief finished the Saratoga sale with an incredible average price of $815,909 from 11 lots sold.
