Into Mischief filly “Rockets” to victory in Saratoga’s Jersey Girl S.

Almostgone Rocket kept her undefeated record intact with a scintillating six-length victory in Thursday’s $150,000 Jersey Girl S. at Saratoga.
The 3-year-old filly has been dazzling in all three of her starts to date. After breaking her maiden in her debut by nearly a dozen lengths April 5 at Oaklawn Park, the Brad Cox trainee wired a tough allowance field by 4 ¼-lengths on Kentucky Oaks (G1) Day at Churchill Downs.
Making her first appearance in a stakes in Thursday’s six-furlong contest, Almostgone Rocket was in a three-way battle for the lead for the first half of the Jersey Girl. She stuck her head in front just before turning for home, then sprinted away from the field to win going away in a lively 1:09.52 on a fast main track.
“Big run. Obviously, she has a big pedigree and now she’s a stakes winner, so it takes a little pressure off,” Cox said. “Overall, our goal is to obviously get her some black type and make her a graded stakes winner. I’m proud of what she was able to do today. It was a fast opening half (:44.72) and she finished it off.”
Owned by Frank Fletcher Racing Operations, Inc. and Ten Strike Racing, Almostgone Rocket was a $250,000 purchase at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale. She banked $82,500 and has now earned $224,460 in her three wins.
The winner was bred by Malibu Farm, LLC in Kentucky and is out of the three-time stakes winner Bound.
