Into Mischief filly fires on all cylinders at Del Mar

Gas Station Sushi hit her best stride in the Del Mar stretch on Sunday afternoon to win her debut by a widening 3 ½-lengths in a 6 ½-furlongs maiden special weight race for 2-year-old fillies.

Bred by Spendthrift Farm, the Into Mischief filly was head-to-head with Broome for the lead before taking over with about a quarter-mile to run. She finished the distance in 1:17.18 (VIDEO).

Gas Station Sushi is owned by Jason and Megan Tackitt, who purchased her for $240,000 out of the OBS March 2-year-old Sale. The winner is out of the stakes winner Five Star Daydream, who has produced three other winners to date and is from the same family as Grade 1 winner Taste of Paradise.

Into Mischief is the sire of some 109 winners to date this year, with nine stakes winners.
