Into Mischief filly battles for Memories of Silver S. win
April 23, 2017
With a determined stretch run, Party Boat wore down pacesetter Team of Teams to win the $100,000 Memories of Silver S. by three-quarters of a length Sunday at Aqueduct.
The win was the second stakes victory for the 3-year-old daughter of Into Mischief, who won the Wait A While S. at Gulfstream Park in her final start of 2016. She is the fifth stakes winner of the year for Into Mischief, who also has a leading contender for this year’s Kentucky Derby (G1) in Practical Joke.
Javier Castellano gave Party Boat a perfect ride in the 1 1/16-mile Memories of Silver, making his way to the rail shortly after the start and tracking in third until hitting the top of the stretch, when he swung Party Boat off the rail to tackle Team of Teams. Party Boat collared her foe in the final sixteenth and forged ahead to stop the timer in 1:42.05 on the firm turf.
Party Boat is trained by Graham Motion for Hope Jones. The win upped Party Boat’s earnings to $183,825.
