Into Mischief colt tagged a TDN Rising Star
March 17, 2018
Central Command strutted his way to a 4 1/4-length maiden special weight victory in his St. Patrick’s Day debut at Gulfstream Park, earning the 3-year-old Into Mischief colt a TDN “Rising Star” tag.
Central Command joins the likes of two-time Breeders’ Cup winner Goldencents and stakes horses Mia Mischief and Just a Smidge, who were also Rising Stars by Into Mischief.
Walled in behind horses until upper stretch, Central Command found a seam in the three path and powered through with authority and drew off late to stop the timer in 1:17.42 for the 6 1/2-furlongs.
The winner is owned by Lane’s End Racing and was bred in Kentucky by Alexander-Groves Thoroughbreds. The bay colt is the first foal out of Advance Party, who is a full to Spinster S. (G1) winner Acoma and a half-sister to Super Derby (G1) winner Arch.
Central Command sold for $575,000 at the 2016 Keeneland September Yearling sale, making him the highest-priced Into Mischief yearling of the year.
