Into Mischief colt delivers another top-class performance
January 27, 2017
One Liner, who won his debut very handily last summer over eventual Grade 1 colt Royal Copy, kept his record unblemished on Thursday at Gulfstream Park with a sharp 2 1/2-length allowance score at six furlongs.
The 3-year-old son of Into Mischief showed plenty of professionalism as he stalked the pace for the first half-mile, then willing took over the lead at the top of the stretch, ultimately holding Jersey Street off comfortably to stop the timer in a swift 1:10.14, earning a very solid Beyer Speed Figure of 87.
Owned by China Horse Club, SF Racing LLC and WinStar Farm, One Liner is the first foal out of Cayala, whose graded stakes-placed dam Chasethegold is a sister to Champagne S. (G1) Daredevil and Donn Handicap (G1) winner Albertus Maximus.
One Liner was bred in Kentucky by Kingswood Farm and sold for $150,000 at the 2015 Keeneland January sale.
Into Mischief was the leading 2-year-old sire of 2016 and has started 2017 on high note as well, with six winners in the past six days alone.
