I’m Betty G leads the way in Lady Canterbury S.
June 23, 2018
Into Mischief’s ultra-consistent 4-year-old filly took Saturday’s $100,000 Lady Canterbury S. by 1 1/4-lengths for her second stakes win.
Trained by Mike Maker for Three Diamonds Farm, I’m Betty G let Burma Road set the early pace for the first half-mile, then took over willingly to lead the rest of the way, comfortably holding off Sirenusa in the stretch.
The final time for the mile on the firm turf was 1:35.44.
After breaking her maiden in May of 2017, I’m Betty G has competed almost exclusively in stakes, and has finished worse than third only once in that span. Her lifetime record is now 4-1-5 in 14 starts, with earnings of $270,465. She was bred in Kentucky by Carol Kaye and Boyce Stable.
Into Mischief is having another top-five year at stud, with 10 stakes winners, 92 overall winners, and over $6.5 million in progeny earnings to date.
