Gormley filly gets the money in Woodbine maiden
October 28, 2021
Peggy Bank won her racing debut Thursday at Woodbine to become the 17th winner from Gormley’s first crop, tying him with Gun Runner for the third-most winners by a Freshman Sire in 2021
Peggy Bank won the 5 ½-furlong main track contest by a half-length over post-time favorite Sassywithattitude, winning a stretch-long battle in a very game effort.
Peggy Bank races for James and Janeane Everatt. The 2-year-old filly was bred in Kentucky by Bill Frothinger.
With the prolific results from Gormley’s first crop this year, the Spendthrift stallion bred 158 mares in 2021, the highest number since his first year at stud. He’ll stand the 2022 season for $7,500 S&N.
