Gormley colt rolls to double-digit MSW win at Keeneland
April 24, 2022
B Dawk ran away from a salty field of 3-year-olds in a maiden allowance race on April 24 at Keeneland, drawing off in the stretch and coasting home an 11 ¼-length winner.
The chestnut son of Gormley, who sold for $425,000 as a 2021 Fasig-Tipton Midlantic buy, pressed the pace in the early stages, then took over while three-wide around the bend. He widened turning for home, and after opening an insurmountable lead, was eased up in the final strides to finish the “about” seven furlongs in 1:27.05.
The win earned B Dawk an excellent Beyer Speed Figure of 92.
B Dawk was purchased at auction by his owners West Point Thoroughbreds and Joseph Besecker and was bred in Kentucky by Small Batch Thoroughbreds and Robert Fetkin.
