September 16, 2018
Goldencents secured his spot atop the 2018 First-Crop Sire list with two more maiden special weight winners on Sept. 16, bringing his winners total to 16 for the year.
Taking the Sunday spotlight was the filly Malibu Mischief, who rolled to a front-running, six length score at Belmont Park. Never headed at any point, the bay filly covered the 6 1/2-furlongs in 1:17.50 on a fast track (VIDEO).
Malibu Mischief is owned by Martin Harrigan and was bred by Fedai Kahraman.
Goldencents’ second winner of the day Bingwa was making her career debut at Belterra Park. She also won on the lead, taking a five-furlong turf race by 1 1/4-lengths. The Wayne Lyster homebred is a half-sister to Shakertown S. (G2) winner Bound for Nowhere. Their dam Fancy Deed is a half-sister to two-time Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1) winner and Eclipse champion Midnight Lute.
