Goldencents’ Going to Vegas has return engagement in Breeders’ Cup
November 2, 2022
Going to Vegas will make her second start in the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf (G1), this time Saturday at Keeneland.
The 5-year-old daughter of Goldencents, himself a two-time winner of the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1), has finished in the top three in all five of her starts since the 2021 Breeders’ Cup, most recently winning the Rodeo Drive S. (G1) a month ago in front-running style at Santa Anita Park.
Going to Vegas has an excellent record at the Turf’s 1 3/16-mile distance, with three wins and a pair of seconds in five tries. She drew post 2 in Saturday’s sixth race, which runs at 1:50 p.m. ET.
Going to Vegas races for Abbondanza Racing, LLC, Medallion Racing and MyRacehorse, the Spendthrift created-microshare ownership program. Going to Vegas has compiled an excellent record of 8-11-3 in 28 starts and is on the cusp of $1 million in earnings.
Goldencents, who will stand in the 2023 for $10,000 live foal, is a son of leading sire Into Mischief. This year he has accounted for eight stakes winners, led by Going to Vegas and graded winners That’s Right and Phantom Currency.
