Goldencents filly has fastest quarter-mile at OBS Under Tack Show
March 10, 2019
The final day of the OBS March 2-year-old Sale Under Tack Show produced the co-fastest quarter-mile of the three days when a filly by Goldencents zipped though the distance in :20 2/5 seconds [WATCH] on Saturday.
Named Angelcents, hip No. 399 is consigned by Blazing Meadows Farm, agent. Angelcents is the second foal out of Pomeroy Angel, who is a half-sister to stakes winner City Sage.
Goldencents had his second sub-:21 worker of the day when Hip 485, a bay colt out of the multiple stakes-producing Carson City mare Song’n Dance, blitzed a quarter in :20 4/5 [WATCH]. He is from the consignment of Woodford Thoroughbreds.
Goldencents led all 2018 First-Crop Sires with 29 winners, and was second in earnings behind only Cross Traffic. He already has 11 winners to date this year, which tops all Second-Crop Sires. In his first crop at last year’s OBS March sale, Goldencents was represented by a colt that tied the record for fastest quarter-mile ever at OBS in :20 1/5 seconds – just 1/5th faster than Angelcents.
Hips 399 and 485 are both slated to sell on the second day of the March 12-13 auction in Ocala.
