Goldencents 2yo romps by 7 in stakes debut
October 5, 2022
Sir Lancelot remained undefeated after his second powerhouse victory in Tuesday’s $100,000 Fitz Dixon Jr. S. at Presque Isle Downs (WATCH RACE).
The 2-yaer-old son of Goldencents was a 7 ¾-length debut winner on Sept. 9 at Delaware Park, and proved that race was no fluke on Tuesday with another dominating performance.
Sir Lancelot, under Jose Ortiz, shot right to the front and quickly established a three-length lead without being asked. He relaxed a bit on the turn, then re-broke at the top of the stretch and left the field far behind to get the 6 ½-furlongs in 1:15.85, good for an 82 Beyer Speed Figure.
The winner is owned and was bred by John and Susan Moore. He has earned $85,200 in his two victories. Sir Lancelot’s dam Madame X Ski was a stakes winner and is a full sister to QEII Challenge Cup (G1) winner Tenski.
Goldencents now has six stakes winners and 17 stakes horses in 2022, and leads all Fifth-Crop sires with 125 individual winners.
