G1 winner Jimmy Creed sires first foal
January 30, 2015
Spendthrift Farm’s Jimmy Creed, the Grade 1-winning son of Distorted Humor, sired his first reported foal Saturday, January 17th when a filly was born in Wilmington, Ohio.
Bred and owned by Dr. Dan & Trish Yates, the newborn filly is out of the young Majestic Warrior mare Rush to War.
“She is a very nice filly,” said Dr. Dan Yates. “She has a nice body, powerfully built, and glides over the ground. She should be a really nice yearling.”
On the track, Jimmy Creed captured his biggest win as a 3-year-old in the seven-furlong Malibu S. (G1) at Santa Anita, stopping the clock in 1:20.36 and earning a 105 Beyer. He was a $900,000 yearling purchase by his owner Spendthrift Farm – where he retired to stud in 2014.
Jimmy Creed is out of the Grade 1-winning and multiple Grade 1-producing Citidancer mare Hookedonthefeelin, who’s also the dam of Grade 1 winner Pussycat Doll and is a full sister to the dam of Grade 1 winner Midnight Lucky.
Jimmy Creed, who bred 141 mares in his first book in 2014, is set to stand his second season at Spendthrift for a fee of $12,000 S&N. He is currently being offered through Spendthrift’s Breed Secure program on a limited basis.
