Front-running stakes win for Rush Hour Traffic
September 9, 2021
Rush Hour Traffic collected her second career stakes win Wednesday evening at Canterbury Park, going gate-to-wire to win the Princess Elaine Minnesota Distaff Turf Championship by nearly three lengths.
The 4-year-old daughter of Cross Traffic has won or placed in seven stakes and earned $224,201 for her owner/breeder Sugarland Thoroughbreds LLC.
The gray/roan filly was very quick out of the gate and set a rapid pace of :22.68 and :46.50. Despite the quick fractions, Rush Hour Traffic was full of run coming into the stretch and drew off impressively to finish the 1 1/16-miles in 1:41.50 on a firm turf course.
Rush Hour Traffic is out of Dana’s Lucky Lady and is a full sister to multiple stakes winner Dame Plata and a half-sister to southern hemisphere Group 1 winner La Glamorosa.
Cross Traffic, who was the champion Freshman Sire, is a top-10 Fourth Crop sire this year with nearly $1.9 million in progeny earnings to date.
