Free Drop Billy filly hammers for $180,000 Wednesday at F-T
October 26, 2021
Free Drop Billy first offerings at the Fasig-Tipton October Yearling sale included a well-bred filly that sold for $180,000 during Tuesday’s session of the four-day auction.
Hip No. 645, consigned by Eaton Sales as agent for breeder Spendthrift Farm, went to William Denzik, agent for Rocket Ship Racing.
The chestnut filly is out of the Tiznow mare Tiz the Key. She is the dam Tiz the Bomb, a 2-year-old son of Hit It a Bomb who won the Castle & Key Bourbon S. (G2) at Keeneland on Oct. 10 and the $500,000 Kentucky Downs Juvenile Mile S. in early September, and is a candidate for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf (G1). This is also the family of European champions Gay Gallanta and Gay Mecene.
Free Drop Billy, a multiple Grade 1-winner at 2 and son of Union Rags, will stand the 2022 season at Spendthrift for $5,000 S&N.
