Frank’s Rockette becomes Into Mischief’s 7th Graded SW of 2020
July 5, 2020
Into Mischief’s newest graded stakes winner Frank’s Rockette nearly broke the track record in Saturday’s $100,000 Victory Ride S. (G3) at Belmont Park, stopping the timer in 1:14.47 for the 6 ½-furlongs, just .01 off the track record.
The 3-year-old filly added to a remarkable season for Into Mischief, who now has seven graded stakes winners and 17 stakes wins as the No. 2 ranked sire of 2020.
Frank’s Rockette was on the front end the entire trip in the Victory Ride. After a half-mile in :45.52, she was under heavy pressure from Reagan’s Edge and Center Aisle. Set down for the stretch drive, she would not let Reagan’s Edge by, besting her by a head on the wire.
“At the end, she put in a real good fight,” jockey John Velazquez said. “At the wire, I thought I had it. But right before the wire, I wasn’t sure we were going to hold on.”
Trainer Bill Mott said the Test (G1) at Saratoga could be next on the agenda.
“The Test is a great race,” Mott said. “If she’s doing well, I’d like to give her a try in there.”
Frank’s Rockette won the Any Limit S. at Gulfstream in February, and was second in both the Adirondack S. (G2) and Spinaway S. (G1) last year at Saratoga. Owned by her breeder Frank Fletcher, the bay filly is now 4-4-0 in eight starts and has earned $413,603.
