Flat Out has top colt Wednesday at OBS
June 14, 2017
A colt from the first crop of the multiple Grade 1 winner Flat out brought a winning bid of $220,000 during the second day of the June 13-14 OBS June Sale of 2-year-olds in training.
The bay juvenile, hip No. 634, was the top-priced colt of the session.
Bobby Dodd, agent, consigned the Kentucky-bred, while Linda Rice signed the winning ticket on behalf of an undisclosed buyer.
The colt’s dam Dress Parade has already produced a pair of winners and is a half-sister to graded stakes winner Added Asset.
Flat Out, whose first starter won a Keeneland maiden special weight, has one of the top-10 sales averages of 2-year-old first-crop sires in 2017, with his youngsters bringing more than 13 times his stud fee of $7,000.
