Flash of Mischief dominates $150,000 David M. Vance S.
September 26, 2022
Flash of Mischief turned in the best performance of his career in winning the $150,000 David M. Vance S. Sunday at Remington Park as the 4-year-old son of Into Mischief rolled to a 6 ¼-length win for his fourth career stakes win.
Flash of Mischief was about six lengths from the front on the backstretch, but soon found his stride and moved up between horses entering the turn. He switched to the three path and made his bid for the lead coming into the stretch. He easily went by Empire of Gold and flew home to get the six furlongs in a swift 1:08.78 on a fast track (WATCH RACE).
The time was less than a second off the track record and good for a career-best Beyer Speed Figure of 104.
Flash of Mischief is owned by his breeder Jerry Namy. In addition to his four stakes wins, he was second in the Oklahoma Derby (G3) last year and has now earned $661,788.
Flash of Mischief is the 23rd stakes winner this year for his sire, whose current 2022 progeny earnings of $20.1 million top the General Sire list.
