March 11, 2022
Bolt d’Oro, who has 18 juveniles in the March 15-16 OBS 2-year-olds in Training sale, had a quartet of youngsters post excellent breeze times during Thursday’s Under Tack show.
Hip No. 51, a dark bay or brown colt is consigned by SBM Training and Sales was the first of two Bolt d’Oro juveniles to post a quarter-mile of :20 4/5, just a tick off the fastest time of the day. The colt is out of Queen of May, by Bernardini, a half-sister to graded stakes winner Tizaqueena.
“I think it’s going to be a big year for Bolt. If I were rich, (Hip 51) wouldn’t be for sale…I think he’s going to be special,” said Susan Montanye of SBM.
Hip No. 202, consigned by Pick View, agent, was the second to post an identical quarter-mile. The bay filly is out of Throbbin’ Heart by Smoke Glacken and is a half-sister to stakes placed Roaming.
Two colts by the Spendthrift stallion posted furlongs of :09 4/5, also just a fifth off the top time.
Hip. No 81 is out of Roman Bluff, a half-sister to multiple graded winner May Day Rose. The colt is a half-brother to stakes placed Flying Frank and Easy Money and is consigned by Ciaran Dunne’s Wavertree Stables, agent.
“(Hip 81) might just be our fastest horse going in there,” said Dunne prior to the work.
Hip No. 164, consigned by Britton Peak, agent, is a dark bay or brown colt out Street Love by Street Boss, who is a full sister to Grade 1 winner Capo Bastone.
