Fasig-Tipton sale yields $575,000 filly for leading First-Crop sire Vekoma

Vekoma, who already has 13 individual winners from his first crop, had another strong showing in the auction ring Tuesday at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga sale when hip No. 187 sold for $575,000.
Consigned by Bluegrass Thoroughbred Services, Inc., agent for Willow Oaks Stable LLC, the filly went to Live Oak Plantation.
A chestnut like her sire, the Kentucky-bred yearling is out of the Graded stakes-place Tapit’s World, making her a half-sister to the multiple graded winner Il Miracolo, as well as the stakes-placed Steinar.
From his first crop of runners this year, Vekoma has accounted for three stakes horses to date and recently got his first stakes winner when Louisiana Jess was and impressive winner of the Aug. 3 D. S. Shine Young Futurity S.
