Elusive Mischief romps in Punch Line S.
September 23, 2018
Elusive Mischief cruised to a six-length win in Sunday’s $75,000 Punch Line S. to give the 3-year-old Into Mischief colt his first stakes win.
He is the 16th stakes winner this year for his sire, tying him for the top spot among all active North American sires in 2018.
Racing over very sloppy going on Laurel Park’s main track, Elusive Mischief got an early challenge from Homespun Hero, but shook him off midway on the turn and pulled away in the stretch for an easy win.
Making his first start for trainer Ian Wilkes and owner Lothenbach Stables, Elusive Mischief upped his record to 3-1-1 in seven starts and his bankroll to $122,225. He was bred in Kentucky by Jim and Katie Fitzgerald and sold for $350,000 at the 2017 OBS Spring 2-year-old Sale.
