October 3, 2020
Top-10 First-Crop sire Hit It a Bomb got his first winner on the turf Friday at Hawthorne when Dewy’s Hit battled to a three-quarter length win in a one-mile maiden special weight affair for 2-year-olds.
With Grade 2 winner Weston and Grade 1-placed Miss Costa Rica on his resume, Hit It a Bomb’s progeny earnings are just under $300,000 to date.
Dewy’s Hit took over the top spot with about three furlongs to run, then dug in to hold off the late charge of Chatter Box to secure the victory.
The winner was bred by Wendell Yates, who co-owns the dark bay juvenile with Evelyn and Wendell Yates.
