Cross Traffic’s April hot streak continues during OBS Spring sale opener
April 25, 2023
Cross Traffic, who already has had a pair of Keeneland graded stakes winners this month, was hot in the OBS Sales ring Tuesday as well, when his first offering brought more than 21 times his advertised stud fee.
Hip No. 256, a colt consigned by Randy Miles, agent, went to Lea Farms LLC for $160,000. The chestnut 2-year-old had breezed a furlong in :10 1/5 seconds during last week’s Under Tack Show.
The Kentucky-bred is out of Devilena, whose dam Devil House was a six-time stakes winner. The subject colt is the third foal out of his dam.
Cross Traffic, who stands this year for $7,500 live foal, is responsible for this year’s Ashland S. (G1) winner and potential Kentucky Oaks (G1) favorite Defining Purpose, as well as recent Commonwealth S. (G3) winner Hear Mi Song.
