Cross Traffic gets first stakes winner
August 7, 2018
Top-five First-Crop sire Cross Traffic tallied his first stakes winner on Aug. 6 when the filly Dancin Shoes cruised to a four-length win in the $50,000 British Columbia Cup Debutante S. in her career debut [VIDEO].
Dancin Shoes is the seventh winner this year already for Cross Traffic, who also has the stakes-placed filly Raising the Ante among the group. Cross Traffic and fellow Spendthrift stallion Goldencents are the only two freshman sires with seven winners to date.
Dancin Shoes had to go wide on both turns in her win, but was up to the task, coming from third with a rush around the final bend, then drawing off with authority in the stretch to get the 6 1/2-furlongs in 1:17.89.
Canadian-bred Dancin Shoes is out of Andtheliviniseasy and comes from the same family as Santa Anita Oaks (G1) winner Hedonist and Brooklyn H. (G2) winner Seeking Daylight.
