Popular Cross Traffic filly fetches $165,000 at Fasig October

A filly by champion First-Crop sire Cross Traffic sold for $165,000 during Tuesday’s session of the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October Yearlings sale.
Trainer Ken McPeek, agent was the winning bidder on hip No. 784, which was consigned by Peter O’Callaghan’s Woods Edge Farm.
The gray or roan filly is out of Lioness Lahr, who produced a full brother to the subject filly. Lioness Lahr has a pair of stakes-winning siblings out of their multiple graded stakes-placed dam Damewood.
Cross Traffic was the leading First-Crop sire of 2018 and is in the top-10 on this year’s Second-Crop list. Among his runners this year are Delaware Oaks (G3) winner Jaywalk and Panamanian Group 1 winner Capocostello. Cross Traffic will stand the 2020 season at Spendthrift Farm for $15,000 live foal, stands and nurses.
