Cross Traffic colts shining at Gulfstream Park
January 12, 2020
As the 2020 Triple Crown season begins, a pair of 3-year-old Cross Traffic colts took center stage this week at Gulfstream Park.
On Jan. 9 at Gulfstream, the well-regarded Cross Court easily broke his maiden in his second lifetime start, drawing off late to win the six-furlong test by 3 ½-lengths. Cross Court is owned by Joker Racing and was bred by Fools on a Hill.
Ny Traffic put on a stellar display in a 1 1/16-mile allowance on Jan. 11, drawing off to win by nearly seven lengths in his first start for new trainer Joe Saffie, Jr. The gray or roan colt was originally campaigned by Jon Fanelli, who is now co-owner with Cash is King LLC and LC Racing. With two wins and a third in five starts, he has earned $96,970.
Ny Traffic was bred by Brian Culnan and is the first foal out of Mamie Reilly.
Cross Traffic was the #1 First-Crop Sire of 2018 and a top-10 Second-Crop sire in several categories in 2019. Already a sire of 2020 Grade 1 winner Capocostello, Cross Traffic is standing for $15,000 live foal in 2020.
