Crimson Creed strikes in tough Oaklawn Park MdSpWt
March 11, 2018
Crimson Creed had to find her way around and through horses, but the 3-year-old Jimmy Creed filly was up to the task, breaking her maiden by a half-length in a six-furlong maiden special weight March 11 at Oaklawn Park [WATCH RACE].
The chestnut filly is part of Jimmy Creed’s excellent second crop that includes graded stakes winners Kanthaka and Strike Lightning.
Sporting a distinctive white blaze, Crimson Creed was on top at the break on Sunday, but dropped well back between horses through the first three furlongs. Midway on the turn, she began her rally, full of run as she straightened for the wire. Challenged from both inside and out in deep stretch, she dug in gamely to score the win.
Crimson Creed was bred by Lambholm & Constance Wickes and is owned by Rags Racing Stable LLC. She is out of the stakes winner Madame Red and a half-sister to multiple black type winner Crimson Comic.
