Coal Front filly rolls to a dozen-length debut win
August 9, 2023
Xtreme Diva ran away from the field at the top of the stretch to score a 12 ½-length maiden special weight win in her career bow on Aug. 9 at Canterbury Park.
The 2-year-old filly is the fifth winner from the first crop of Coal Front. The Spendthrift stallion is currently sixth on the Freshman Sire list by progeny earnings, with his leading earner the two-time stakes-placed Good and Stout.
Xtreme Diva was second early on in the 5 ½-furlong contest and willingly took the lead midway on the turn. Her momentum carried her wide into the stretch, but her foes were no match the rest of the way. Despite not being asked for run at all, she widened her lead all the way to the wire over the sloppy going.
The winner is owned by the Xtreme Racing Stables LLC and was bred by Scott Pierce. Her dam Silly Little Mama was a four-time stakes winner and has produced a pair of stakes-placed winners.
