Chacha Real Smooth first stakes winner for Palace
September 3, 2019
Chacha Real Smooth won his stakes debut in the $92,375 Iowa Cradle S. on Labor Day at Prairie Meadows to become the first stakes winner for Spendthrift Farm’s freshman sire Palace.
After winning his maiden by three lengths on Aug. 4, Chacha Real Smooth was the post-time favorite in the six-furlong Cradle. The field of 2-year-olds was very bunched up until the top of the stretch, when Chacha Real Smooth emerged with the lead and outfinished Fleetwood Shac to win by a length in 1:10.45 (VIDEO).
Chacha Real Smooth has won two of three starts and earned $81,542 for River Ridge Ranch LLC. Bred by DNAce Thoroughbreds, LTD, Chacha Real Smooth is from the same family as Grade 1 winner Wildcat Heir and his multiple graded stakes-winning sibling Forest Heiress, who is Chacha Real Smooth’s third dam.
