Casa Creed repeats in Grade 1 Jaipur S.
June 11, 2022
Jimmy Creed’s top-class turf sprinter Casa Creed won the Jaipur S. (G1) for the second consecutive year Saturday at Belmont Park, earning the 6-year-old a free trip to the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint (G1) this November at Keeneland.
Casa Creed is Jimmy Creed’s leading lifetime earner and one of the TDN Value Sire’s four stakes horses in 2022.
In post four in the 13-horse field, Casa Creed moved over to the rail soon after the break and was midpack after a quarter mile. Jockey Luis Saez held his position around the turn, then began to creep up closer to the front as the field hit the stretch. Saez found himself in third in midstretch, but blocked behind a duo of frontrunners. Saez switched Casa Creed to the outside, and with one final burst, surged to the front to win by a half-length in 1:07.44 on a firm turf.
“He loves to be a racehorse, he loves to train, he loves running in the afternoon, and he’s a horse owner’s dream come true,” said co-owner Lee Einsidler.
Casa Creed, whose previous two starts came in Dubai and Saudi Arabia, improved to 6-4-4 in 26 starts in winning the Jaipur, raising his earnings to more than $1.4 million for Mike Francesa’s JEH Racing Stable and Einsidler’s LRE Racing.
Casa Creed was bred by Silver Springs Stud, LLC.
