Carmelina the first stakes winner for Maximus Mischief

Maximus Mischief moved to the top of the 2023 First-Crop Sire list and also got his first stakes winner on Saturday when Carmelina won the $150,000 Keswick S. at Colonial Downs.
Later in the day, Maximus Freedom won a five-furlong maiden special weight race at Evangeline Downs to make Maximus Mischief the first Freshman Sire to have 10 individual winners worldwide.
Carmelina, in post 8 in the nine-horse field, was three-wide the entire trip. She was third most of the way as well, until the final sixteenth, with one last surge, passed Beachfront Breeze to win by a half-length in :58.34 on a fast track.
The winner is owned by Cash Is King LLC and LC Racing LLC. She has won two of her three starts and earned $134,800.
Carmelina was bred by Lillith E. Boucher and is the first foal out of multiple stakes winner Complete St.
