Can the Man filly wins debut in allowance
July 22, 2018
Crooked Hillary, a 2-year-old Can the Man filly, broke her maiden on July 22 in a 5 1/2-furlong allowance race at Camarero Race Track to become the second winner for her sire.
Crooked Hillary showed plenty of heart in the head victory over Halley’s Orbit. Going to the front soon after the break, the eventual winner surrendered the lead at the top of the stretch, only to re-rally in the final sixteenth to get up just in time.
The chestnut filly was bred by Jon and Patience Jazdzewski. Crooked Hillary is out of Charm Away, dam of three-time stakes winner Sapphire Sky and a half-sister to Remsen S. (G2) winner The Silver Move.
