September 25, 2022
Jimmy Creed got his fifth stakes winner of the year on Sunday at Remington Park when Campfire Creed scored in the $75,000 Kip Deville S. (WATCH RACE).
The 2-year-old colt was making his stakes debut following a sharp maiden special weight win over the same track on Aug. 20, when he won by 5 ¼-lengths.
In the six-furlong Kip Deville, Campfire Creed was fifth through the first half of the race. He began to make progress towards the front while three-wide on the turn, then gobbled up the ground in the stretch to roll by pacesetter Wildatlanticstorm in the final furlong, winning by 1 ¾-lengths.
Bred by Highclere, Inc., the winner is out of the More Than Ready mare Mahbadiha. The chestnut is owned by Dennis Foster and has earned $75,178 in three lifetime starts.
In addition to Campfire Creed, Jimmy Creed’s Conagher was a gallant second to Gunite in the $275,000 Harrods Creek S. Saturday at Churchill Downs. Jimmy Creed currently ranks third among all Sixth-Crop sires with just under $5 million in progeny earnings to date this year.
