February 10, 2020
Goldencents’ graded stakes winner By My Standards made a triumphant return to the races Feb. 9 at Fair Grounds with an emphatic victory in a 1 1/16-mile allowance race for older horses (VIDEO).
Away from the races since last year’s Kentucky Derby (G2), the winner of the Louisiana Derby (G2) made short work of his competition, running along easily in second behind Two Emmys for the first six furlongs before taking over the lead in upper stretch. Under a hand ride the whole trip, he was geared down late to win by six lengths.
By My Standards, owned by Allied Racing Stable LLC, now sports a record of 3-2-1 from seven starts, with earnings of $681,910. He was bred in Kentucky by Don Ladd.
Goldencents, last year’s leading Second-Crop sire, is currently third on the 2020 Third-Crop sire list.
