Bueno Bueno very sharp in Ellis Park turf tally
July 24, 2021
Shortly after Basking’s blowout maiden win at Gulfstream Park, Lord Nelson got his second winner of the day when Bueno Bueno went gate-to-wire in a turf allowance at Ellis Park, winning by two lengths.
The 2-year-old colt, who broke his maiden by 7 ¼-lengths on July 2 at Ellis, now has wins on the main track and turf. He is owned by Calumet Farm.
Bueno Bueno broke very well from post four to take command immediately. He laid down fast fractions of :21.80 and :44.10 and was still well within himself when he crossed the wire in 1:01.17 for the 5 ½-furlongs on the firm turf, just a second off the track record.
Bueno Bueno was bred in Kentucky by Mike Abraham and is out of Multitasker, who is a half-sister to the brilliant 2-year-old champion Shared Belief, a winner of nearly $3 million and five Grade 1 events.
