Brody’s Cause colt powers to debut victory
August 16, 2020
Sittin On Go lived up to his name in his career bow Sunday at Ellis Park, storming down the stretch to win the five-furlong maiden special weight race for 2-year-olds by a widening 4 ¼-lengths.
The chestnut son of Brody’s Cause races for owner Albaugh Family Stables and trainer Dale Romans, the same connections who campaigned Brody’s Cause to win the Blue Grass S. (G1) and Breeders’ Futurity (G1).
Sittin On Go is the third winner for freshman sire Brody’s Cause. His first two winners have both gone on to place in stakes, Girther second in the Best Pal S. (G2) last weekend at Del Mar, and Gospel Way was third in the Victoria S. at Woodbine on Aug. 2.
Sittin On Go was at least a half-dozen lengths off the lead for the first three furlongs, then found his best stride and rolled past the leaders to win impressively in :59.26 on the fast local track.
The winner was bred in Kentucky by Wynnstay Farm and was his sire’s first foal born. His dam Set’n On Ready was a stakes winner and has produced three winners from three foals. She is from the family of graded stakes winner Comic Strip and Silver Comic.
