Bolts n Rainbows closes fast in Churchill Downs MdSpWt score

Leading First-Crop sire Bolt d’Oro got his second debut maiden special weight winner in as many days when Bolts n Rainbows finished with a furious flurry to win a 4 ½-furlong contest at Churchill Downs.

Bolts n Rainbows was in fifth for most of the trip and it wasn’t until she was well inside the final furlong that she kicked into gear. Showing a remarkable turn of foot, she made up four lengths and went on to win by a length in :52.45 on a fast track.

Bolts n Rainbows is the sixth winner thus far for Bolt d’Oro. The bay filly is owned by her breeder Ruis Racing LLC. On Rainbow Bridge, dam of Bolts n Rainbows, was a precocious juvenile as well, winning a pair of stakes and placing two others during her juvenile campaign. On Rainbow Bridge foaled a Bolt d’Oro colt this year.
