August 19, 2022
Recognize ran away from the field at the top of the Saratoga turf course stretch to roll home by 5 ¼-lengths in a 1 1/16-mile maiden special weight contest for 2-year-old fillies on Aug. 18.
The bay filly is Bolt d’Oro’s 11th First-Crop winner, second-most for any freshman sire. He also ranks second by progeny earnings and black type horses.
Recognize took the lead just a few jumps after the start, with Sarah’s Dialed In pressing her for the first five furlongs. Recognize began to edge clear on the turn, the sprinted away when roused at the top of the stretch. She finished full of run in 1:45.67 on the firm turf.
Recognize originally sold for $270,000 at the 2021 Keeneland September Yearling sale. She was bred by Lakland Farms and Sequel Stallions NY, the latter also her owner in partnership with Cypress Creek Equine.
