Bolt d’Oro colt romps by 13 in two-turn debut
October 18, 2022
Didinger stretched out to two turns for the first time in a 1 mile and 70 yard maiden special weight race Tuesday at Parx, and the Bolt d’Oro colt flourished with the extra distance, rolling through the lane to win by 13 lengths.
Bolt d’Oro now has 18 individual winners, and with Didinger’s $36,000 share of Tuesday’s purse, he moved into second on the First-Crop sire list by progeny earnings, with $1,658,963. The Spendthrift stallion leads the list by stakes winners, graded stakes horses, and stakes horses.
Didinger was head-to-head for the lead through six furlongs, then asserted himself and quickly opened up on the field. Up six lengths with a furlong to go, he widened with authority despite being geared down late.
The bay colt is owned by Cash is King LLC and LC Racing LLC, who acquired him for $230,000 out of the 2021 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October Yearling sale. Didinger was bred by Clark Brewster. Through his third dam Fleet Lady, Didinger is related to Midshipman, the champion 2-year-old colt of 2008.
